Shaun Tanaka is a devoted community leader, educator, and mother of twin sons who lives here in York—Simcoe with her husband and family.
Shaun was raised in this community and has deep roots here, and she has always been actively engaged in making York—Simcoe an even better place to call home. She has dedicated many years of volunteer service to organizations such as the Sharon Temple Museum Society and the East Gwillimbury Public Library, along with the National Association of Japanese Canadians and the Maytree Foundation – a charitable organization committed to reducing poverty and inequality in Canada.
Shaun has also spent the past decade as a Geography professor, both at Queen’s University and the University of Toronto, educating students in urban studies, social, and cultural geography, in addition to operating a successful business with her husband, Sean. In her free time, she enjoys snowboarding, running, and cooking with her family.
York—Simcoe needs a trusted local champion in Parliament. Shaun Tanaka will work closely with Justin Trudeau to strengthen our middle class, create good new jobs, and offer real help for families right here in our community.
